Complex calculations for the relevant data can be easily computed after a formula is written and the application has a set command. This enables users to pose "what if" inquiries and quickly obtain the answers they require without having to rework the calculations.

When a variable such as a cost per unit, shipping expenses, or sales discount is modified in a spreadsheet that calculates gross profit, the program automatically recalculates the new gross profit based on the new information.

Disadvantage: Syntax Learning Requires Skill

The fact that the computations must be typed into the spreadsheet as formulas is the most difficult component for many people. This necessitates mastering the proper syntax for each sort of calculation. Despite the fact that there are numerous classes available to gain the abilities required to use these formulas, many users still find them difficult. When the computations are run, the application will not produce the right information if the syntax is incorrect. Furthermore, if users enter inaccurate data in a single cell of a spreadsheet, all connected calculations and cells will be affected, and the data would be incorrect.

Multiple User Access is an advantage.

Multiple users inside an office often require access to the same documents in today's collaborative work environment. Spreadsheets can be shared in Microsoft Excel, but only one person can modify data at a time. Other users will not have access to the new data if local copies are produced and updated. Google Sheets provides a file-sharing option that allows several users to access and update a single form.
